For me wool speaks of home. Growing up in Christchurch, woollen tights, trousers and pinafores were the only way to be warm. I learnt to knit before starting school, wool crafts were a winter obsession amongst us neighbourhood kids making gigantic finger knitting balls, cotton reel French knitting sets and homemade wooly hair ribbons Making wool crafts is my therapeutic tv watching hand movements relaxing. Thanks to Lockett Gallery for including my work in this exhibition.
